What is a network flow?

AGILITY processes PCAP(s) into Analysis. Each Analysis generates elementary network Flows that have the following properties:

  • Each elementary Flow has a Flow Description

  • Each elementary Flow can be evaluated into Success, Failure, Warning, Unknown called Flow Status with a corresponding Root-Error label.

  • Each elementary Flow contains one or many Interface(s)

  • Each elementary Flow contains one or many Procedure(s)

  • Each elementary Flow belongs to a single Network Plane category Control Plane or User Plane

  • Same elementary Flow are displayed in Diagnostic Hub and Intent-Based Diagnostics

  • Several elementary Flows could be grouped in what will be composed Custom Flows depending on user preferences.

What is the network plane?

The network plane is a view representing network flows in either the Control Plane and User Plane. These two planes are further divided as follow:

  1. Control Plane

    • Mobility Management

    • Session Management

      • Data APN/DNN

      • SoS APN/DNN

      • IMS APN/DNN

  2. User Plane

    • IMS Flows

      • SIP Registration

      • SIP Call
