Overview

This page provides in-depth information about the flows detected in a recent or previously run analysis. It allows you to review the results generated by AGILITY and gain insights into network behavior, performance, and potential issues.

The Flow Details page is divided into two main sections. Below is a breakdown of what you’ll find in each of them:

Overall Information

This section highlights key metadata related to the analyzed flow, including:

  • File Name: The name of the packet capture file used for the analysis

  • Service Type: The type of service identified in the captured traffic

  • Classification & Location: The detected label of the flow, success or root error, and its location (Frame number and Source/Destination Network Elements)

  • Subscriber & Equipment Info: Details about the user and associated equipment

  • Call Information: Specific to VoLTE and VoNR services, when available

The Flow Details organizes insights across multiple tabs:

  • Flow Diagrams: Presenting Sequence and Topology Diagrams

  • Protocol Analyzer: Drill-down view of protocol-level message details

  • Flow Extractions: Extracted attributes from signaling messages for quick access

  • Diagnostics: Identified the potential root error causes within the flow

  • KPI Analysis: Key Performance Indicators related to the flow for performance evaluation

  • Packet Analyzer: Raw packet-level data for deep inspection

  • Comparison Tool: Compare flows side by side for faster troubleshooting


Exploring Flows Result

After an analysis, each detected flow is assigned a status based on the evaluation results. You can check the status in two ways:

  1. From the sidebar: View the status next to each flow listed under Detected Flows.

  2. From the Flow Details Page: The status is displayed in the Details section, located at the top of the Flow Details page, along with more relevant information.

Understanding Flow Results

The table below explains what each status means and how to interpret the results of your analysis:

Success

The flow completed without any warnings or errors.

Unknown

The flow was successful overall, but certain elements or conditions were detected that may require attention.

Failure

One or more network failures were detected during the flow, requiring investigation.

Warning

There wasn’t enough information available to determine the outcome of the flow.


How to Access the Flow Details Page

Run a new analysis or choose an existing one to access Flow Details.

  1. After running your analysis, select an Analysis file to see the detected flows.

  2. Click on a flow using the Analysis Insights or Network Plane cards for a specific flow.

You can view all flows or filter by Subscriber (IMSI or MSISDN), Network Slice, Detected Flows, or Flows with Failures.

3. You’ll be redirected to the Flow Details for the selected analysis/analyses.

Pro Tip: Click the arrow to collapse the Analysis List and expand the Flow Details section, maximizing your workspace.

Flow Overall Information Section

This section of the Flow Details page is a key resource for users who need a deeper understanding of how a particular flow behaved within the network. It provides a structured and comprehensive view of each flow-related information, combining technical insights.

Flow Details Information

This section is important because:

  • It helps the troubleshooting process: By combining flow-specific data with network, device, and subscriber information, users can quickly identify the root cause of issues or service degradation.

  • It provides full context: Details like access technology, device type, and session parameters help build a complete picture.

  • It supports validation of expected behavior: Users can confirm if a session performed as expected by reviewing flow type, outcome, and classification.

This tab provides high-level insights into the selected flow, including:

  • PCAP file name associated with the session — you can copy the file name or download the trace directly from this view.

  • Elementary flow description, such as Registration, Call Setup, or Data Session.

  • Flow result chip, indicating whether the flow was successful, failed, completed with warnings, or returned an unknown outcome.

  • Classification of the flow, success or root error, and its location (Frame number and Source/Destination Network Elements) — the associated frame number is clickable and takes you directly to the corresponding message in the flow diagram.

  • Classification Feedback ( ) lets you provide input when AGILITY’s assigned classification doesn’t meet your expectations, whether due to incorrect results or content.

    You can submit feedback in either of the following ways:

  1. Toggle Classification Result: Use the toggle to change the outcome from a failure to a successful scenario if the assigned result doesn’t accurately reflect the situation, OR;

  2. Select from the Top 5 Root Error Recommendations: Choose a more accurate classification from AGILITY’s suggested top 5 root error options.

Subscriber & Equipment Tab

Details tab: Subscriber & Equipment Info Tab

This tab displays information related to the subscriber and device involved in the session, such as:

  • Subscriber identifiers such as MSISDN, IMSI, and IMEI — when available

  • Device type, indicating the equipment used.

  • Access network, showing the technology used for the session (e.g., LTE, NR)

  • APN/DNN class and APN/DNN name, which provide context on external network or services accessed in this elementary flow.

  • UE IP addresses, including both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses assigned to the user device

  • Roaming status, indicating whether the subscriber was roaming during the session

Call Info Tab

Note that this tab is only available for VoLTE and VoNR services. For all other service types, it will not be visible in the user interface.

Call Info tab

The Call Info tab is available for VoLTE and VoNR flows. It shows additional voice-related details, including:

  • Call to Short code: Calls to abbreviated service numbers (3-5 digits) for emergency, customer service, or information.

  • Call Diversion: Redirects incoming calls to another destination based on predefined conditions (busy, no answer, etc.).

  • Call part of Conference: Call participating in a multi-party session where three or more parties communicate simultaneously.

  • Call to Conference Factory URI: The URI of the conference factory server identified in SIP signaling for conference call establishment.

  • Call Waiting: This event occurs when a second incoming call is received while the subscriber is already engaged in an active call.

  • Call Hold: This event refers to the temporary suspension of an active call session, which is still maintained within the network.

  • Call Resume: This event involves reactivating a previously held call, thereby restoring the media streams between the parties involved.

  • Call Breakout: Event where a call transitions from one communication domain or session to a separate connection, often to access external networks or services.

  • Call Barring: This event occurs when a call attempt is blocked due to network-configured restriction rules.

  • Call Identity Restriction: This event involves the deliberate withholding of caller identity information in signaling messages.

  • Call Continuity: This event ensures that a call session is preserved while transitioning between different network technologies.

  • Media Relayed in SIP: DTMF tones (dial pad key presses) transmitted within SIP signaling messages between originating and terminating parties.

  • Media Negotiated in SDP: Media parameters successfully established between parties using Session Description Protocol.

  • Media Detected in RTP: Confirmation that actual media content is being transmitted using Real-time Transport Protocol.

  • MRF Announcements: Audio messages or tones generated by the Media Resource Function for call progress information.
